Mary E. Balsom was born July 5, 1869, died January 5, 1914, age 44 years, 7 months, and 8 days.
For 4 months she suffering patiently unto the end, which she passed away confessing Christ as her savior and expressing her readiness to leave this world for a better one.
She was married to Frank H. Newton, January 29, 1903 who preceded her to the world beyond. To this union only one child, Wolsey Theodore now 10 years of age, who together with an aged mother, Margaret Balsom, three brothers Wolsey Balsom of Hamilton, Frank Balsmn of Piedmont; Charles Balsom of Galena, Kans., and two sisters Melissa Kimberly of Monterey, Calif., and Anna Williams of Kansas City, MO., with a host of friends are left to mourn her death.
Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Claude
Ruggles, pastor of the Hamilton Baptist Church. Interment was made in the cemetery west of Hamilton.
