Kenneth Russell Cochran, 83, of Apison, died on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at his residence.

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he had been a resident of the Apison area for the past 61 years. He was a retired accountant having worked with several small businesses, but was always proud to be a farmer. He enjoyed square dancing and was a lifetime member of the "Yellow Rocks."

He was also the son of the late Russell L. and Ruby Keys Cochran.

Survivors include his wife of 62½ years, Jessie Presley Cochran; two daughters, Anita (Lloyd) Padgett and Rita (Randy) Powell; grandchildren, Sonya Smith, Kenny Powell, Amber (Will) Whitmire and Haley Padgett.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org or to Amedisys Hospice at 7205 Lee Highway, Suite A, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, at Plowman Cemetery with the Reverend Don Cross officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
