Mrs. Susie Bernard, 55 years old, housewife, was arrested yesterday and --- for the Coroner following the death in city hospital from the results of an illegal operation of Mrs. Marie Harris, 20 years old, wife of Earl Harris.
Before her death, Mrs. Harris told a policeman, in the presence of two physicians, that Mrs. Bernard had performed the operation Dec. 4 or 5. This statement was put in writing. Mrs. Bernard was arrested and taken before Mrs. Harris and identified by her. Mrs. Bernard denied the charge and was released on bond, then rearrested when Mrs. Harris died.
