Mr. Duel McKinley Tidwell was born April 27, 1933 to McKinley and Martha (Sullivan) Tidwell in Hickman County, Tennessee. He passed away August 7, 2013 at Alive Hospice of Nashville.

He is survived by: wife Lillian (Bailey) Tidwell; son David Tidwell of Dickson; daughter Lisa Wray of Old Hickory; brothers J.C. Tidwell of Dickson, Oda Tidwell of Burns, and Snow Byrd Tidwell of Burns; sisters Mary Pokley and Irene Brown, both of Mumfordville, Kentucky; grandchildren Cameron Wray, Carlton Wray, Alyssa Tidwell, Joshua Tidwell, and Sammy Tidwell; great grandchildren Christiana Tidwell and Jackson Mitchell Wray.

Besides his parents, Mr. Tidwell is preceded in death by his sister Zella Lampley and brothers Lloyd and Ewin Tidwell.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, 1953-55. He was a member of the Pond Church of Christ.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 11th, from 1-8 pm and Monday, August 12th, from 10 am until time of service. Funeral service will be Monday, August 12th, from the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home beginning at 12:30 pm with Bro. James Wall officiating. Burial will follow at 2 pm in the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
