Professional Hockey Player. A native of Kenora, Ontario, Bergman played for teams in the NHL, MJHL, WHL, AHL, Summit-72, and the CPHL hockey leagues. At 6'00, and 188lbs, Bergman played the position of Defense for the Winnipeg Braves from 1957 to 1959, Winnipeg Warriors from 1957 to 1958, 1959 to 1960, Buffalo Bisons from 1960 to 1961, Cleveland Barons from 1961 to 1963, Quebec Aces from 1962 to 1963, Springfield Indians from 1963 to 1964, Detroit Red Wings from 1964 to 1975, Memphis Wings from 1965 to 1966, Canada from 1972 to 1973, Minnesota North Stars from 1973 to 1974, and the Kansas City Scouts from 1975 to 1976. In 1973 Bergman played in the NHL All-Star Game. Bergman died on December 8, 2000, in Detroit, Michigan, after an eight month battle with cancer, at the age of 62.
