"MR. FLEENER DIES IN ENGLAND"

Jimmie D. Fleener, 53, formerly of the Searsboro and Grinnell areas, died Sunday, Jan. 3, at his home in Brandon, England.
Funeral services will be held at Lakenheath Air Force Base in England with full military honors. Burial will be in Essex, England.
The son of Earl and Ruth Saunders Fleener, he attended Searsboro and Grinnell schools, enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in October 1951.
He was married to Janet Lapwood of Witham, England. The couple had three daughters.
Mr. Fleener retired from the Air Force in 1978 after serving 27 years. He continued with civil service until bad health forced his retirement a year ago.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; three daughters, Leslie and Allison Fleener of Brandon and Julie Eady of Essex; two grandchildren; his father, Earl Fleener of Grundy Center; a sister, Janet Anderson of Searsboro; and a half-brother, Clair Fleener of Omaha, Neb. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth, in 1949."
