James Faris died at his residence in Eden July 1st. He was one of the pioneers of Delaware Co. He moved from West Virginia, his native place, in October 1828, and settled on a farm three miles East of Delaware. He united with the Presbyterian Church of Delaware in 1829, and soon was ordained a ruling elder, an office he held until his death. Mr. Faris was in his 75th year of age. He moved from his farm to Eden about six years ago. The funeral was conducted by Rev. A. C. Crist of the Presbyterian Church at Eden.
