He was born on July 8, 1955, in Putnam County to the late Louis and Joyce Vaughn Hearld.
He was a member of the Baptist faith. Mr. Hearld was active in sports. He was referred to as "The Legend." He coached Babe Ruth Baseball and coached and officiated in softball and basketball.
His family includes his former wife, Kym Hearld and children, Hudson, Kylie and Mariah Hearld, all of Algood; a son, Nicholas Lack and his mother, Crystal Lack of Algood; four sisters and three brothersinlaw, Gale and Jackie Swallows of Mt. Juliet, Donneita and Glen Smith of Algood, Keeble and LeBron Bell, and Kayla Rager, all of Cookeville; an aunt, Johnnie Stout of Cookeville; a niece; and six nephews.
