He died Friday at Sacred Heart Hospital.
The son of Frank and Margaret (Wagner) Abbenhaus was born November 10, 1911 at Bloomfield. The family moved to Gregory, when he was eight and there he graduated from high school.
He returned to Bloomfield to farm. On September 7, 1940 he married Ann Sueper. They farmed southwest of Bloomfield. Mr. Abbenhaus was a member of St. Ludger Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Bob of Sioux City, Ia., Jim of Creighton and Tom of Yankton; eight grandchildren; one brother, Gerald of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Don (Margaret) Petersen of Gregory and Mrs. Bill (Laura) McGinley of Lompoc, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother and one grandson.
