Son of Abner D. & Mary (or Rebecca?) Locke.

He was a veteran of the Civil War.

He served with Co. C, 25th Missouri Infantry and Co. I, 11th Missouri Cavalry.

Enlisted with Co. C, 25 MO on Jan. 4, 1861 at St. Joseph, MO for a 3-year period.

Some military records show an alternate spelling of "Lock".

He served as a teamster/wagoner in the quartermaster department ca. Feb. 28, 1862 through Sept. 20, 1862.

Apparently assigned to be a nurse in the Brig. Hospital on or about Sept. 20, 1862.

Discharged for disability at Patterson, MO on Dec. 1, 1862.

He again enlisted at St. Joseph, MO on Aug. 5, 1863, this time with Co. I, 11th MO Cav.

In 1879, at the age of 41, he married his 2nd wife, Cora L. Harwood, who was 17.

Although census records [1900, 1910] indicate he was a widower, Cora re-married in 1894.

He applied for a government pension on Sept. 3, 1895, and again (it appears) in 1907.
