Roy A. "Pat" Brown obituary -- Lodi -- Roy A. "Pat" Brown, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, surrounded by his family, at the Lodi Good Samaritan Center. He was born on June 26, 1910, in Leeds Township, son of the late Bernard and Hulda (Scharfenberg) Brown. On Aug. 23, 1938, he was united in marriage to the former Florence Lichte. Pat hauled milk to Nestles Condensary, Lodi, and later for Bordens Condensary, Columbus. In 1953, he became a partner in the Thistle and Brown Oil Company, which later became the Park Corner Oil Company. Pat was very active in community services, including nearly 50 years of service on the Lodi Area Fire Department, 15 years of service on the Lodi Police Commission and 10 years of service on the Lodi Ambulance Service. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, card playing, gardening and traveling. He is survived by his wife, four children, nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, George and Herbert Brown, a grandson, Andy Thien, and a granddaughter, Tammy Sue Brown. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church, Lodi, with the Rev. Paula Bremer officiating. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the service at the church on Saturday.
