Dad was a loving, kind, and gentle husband, father, grandpa, and friend.

He had a thirst for knowledge and was often studying a book or teaching himself a new instrument. Whether clad in his Marine Band blazer or sitting at home, a spontaneous concert was never far away.

Vern enjoyed sports and was looking forward to another year of trying to improve his bowling game. He loved to listen to Brewer and Packer games on his trusty radio and headphones.

Vern was committed to his faith and he relied on this to face his final days with courage and dignity.

He will be missed and remembered by many.
