RENNER BATES BENNETT, 74, of W Baltimore St, died Monday afternoon at Western Maryland Center.

Born in Summit Point, W Va, the son of James and Ella Mae Pope Bennett.

He was a retired employee of H L Mills Service Stations. He was a member of St John's Lutheran Church, and a member of Potomac Towers Senior Citizens Association.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mae Elizabeth Reid Bennett; daughter, Mrs. Janet Bowen, Hagerstown; son, Robert E Bennett, Hagerstown; sisters, Mrs. Emma V Mellott, Williamsport; Mrs. Eva Schlotterbeck, Hagerstown; Mrs. Mary Louise Castle, California; and 7 grandchildren.

Services at 11 am at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport, the Rev Paul Horn officiating; burial in Rest Haven Cemetery.
