FUNERAL TUESDAY FOR MRS. M. S. AMSTUTZ, 74, DEARBORN, MICH.
Mrs. M. S. Amstutz, 74 passed away at her home in Dearborn, Mich., at 4:55 o'clock on Friday afternoon. Death resulted from carcinoma with which she had been suffering the last three or four months.
Louisa Sprunger Amstutz was born in Wabash Township, a mile south of Berne, October 29, 1883. She was the oldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David C. Sprunger. For several years she taught in the rural schools of Monroe and Wabash Townships.
Following her graduation from the Moody Bible Institute in 1909 she was married to Rev. Menno S. Amstutz of Wayne Co., Ohio and with him served in churches in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan, the greater part of the time in the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
The parents, stepmother, one sister and two brothers preceded Mrs. Amstutz in death. Surviving are two sons, both missionaries: Mahlon in Chile, South America, and Jonathan in East Kandesh, B.S. India; four daughters: Mrs. Magdalene Faulkner, Chattanooga, Tenn., Miss Mary Amstutz at home, Mrs. Lois Bryan, Toledo, Ohio, and Mrs. Elizabeth Hendrix, Hilltown, Pa.; sixteen grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Theodore, Herbert, and Miss Elma Sprunger and Mrs. Alieda Schindler of Berne; Mrs. Frieda Boehr of Enid, Okla., and Milton Sprunger of Elmhurst, Ill.
Funeral services will take place at the Melvindale, Mich., Christian and Missionary Alliance Church at 1:30 on Tuesday afternoon. A number of the relatives from here expect to attend.
