Edna, Robbins McAlister

Funeral services for Edna, Robbins McAlister , 76 of Decatur, GA., who passed away Wednesday September 9, 1987 in a hospital there were held at 11:00 AM Friday September 11, at Turner Funeral Home. With Dr Mickey Rice officating.


A native of Scott County, TN. Mrs McAlister was the daughter of the late Joe and Delphie Pemberton Robbins and was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Harold J McAlister. She had lived in Chattanooga area for more than 40 years prior to moving to Decatur, GA.


A graduate of Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, she retired from Moccasin Bend Mental Heath Institute as a registered nurse after many years of service. she was also a member of Central Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two sons, James H McAlister of Biringham, Ala. and Dr. Harold A McAlister of Atlanta, GA. one daughter Mrs. Tor(Ellen) Westin of Atlanta, GA: one sister Leola Black of Richland, WA, two grandchildren, one sister in law Jewel West of Robbins: one nephew Joe Robbins of Annadale Community: one neice Edna Carol Foster of Seattle. WA.and several great nephews and nieces.

Burial was in Chattonooga Memorial Park.
