Mrs. Nichols was born in Union County on August 31, 1949, a daughter of Vernon L. Childers and the late Helen McSwain Childers. She was a former member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her father are two sisters, Melinda Ann Childers of Union and Mary Lanier of Lockhart; a brother, Tommy Childers of Union; three nephews and two special care-givers, Doris Beam and Patti Stewart.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Lockhart Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Frank Cantrell.
The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9.
The family is at the home of her father, Vernon L. Childers, 3669 Jonesville-Lockhart Highway, Union.
