REID L. HANSON

Reid L. Hanson, age 69, of 1664 Camden Court, Manitowoc, entered eternal life
on Friday afternoon, June 1, 2012, at the Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc
County in Two Rivers with his loving family by his side after a two-year
courageous battle with head and neck cancer.
Reid was born in Manitowoc on January 13, 1943, son of the late Wally and Marian
(Hall) Hanson. Reid attended Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of
1961. He attended the UW-Manitowoc Center and graduated from the Milwaukee School
of Engineering in May, 1967, with a degree in Internal Combustion Engines,
Engineering Technology. He began his career at the Manitowoc Company and was
employed there for 18 years. From 1986 to 2008, he was employed at the Kohler
Company as an Engineering Technician III and was the engine building specialist
in the Engineering Testing Laboratory. On November 18, 1967, Reid married the
former Cheryl Yanda at First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc. They would have
celebrated 45 years of marriage this year. Reid was a member of First Presbyterian
Church. He enjoyed bike riding, walking, skeet shooting, golfing, watching the
Green Bay Packers and spending time with family and friends. Along with his career,
Reid enjoyed working on classic cars.
Survivors include his wife: Cheryl Hanson, Manitowoc; two sons: David R. Hanson,
his wife, Kathy and grandchildren, Garrett and Paige Hanson, Cottage Grove; Eric J.
Hanson and his wife, Rebecca of Allenton; one sister and brother-in-law: Lynne and
Ken Liebert, Green Bay; one sister and brother-in-law: Sharon and Mike Van Ells,
Green Bay; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Calvin and Gloria Yanda, Manitowoc.
Reid was preceded in death by his parents: Wally and Marian Hanson.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at First
Presbyterian Church, 502 North 8th Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Matthew Sauer will
officiate.
Relatives and friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The Jens
Family Funeral Home and Crematory of Manitowoc is assisting the Hanson family.
