Stage actress for over 50 years. On Broadway since 1915. She originated the role of Mrs. Eynsford-Hill in the original Broadway cast of "My Fair Lady." She later played Mrs. Higgins, and continued the part until her retirement in 1958. Many years earlier, in Boston, she had played the star part of Eliza Doolittle, in "Pygmalion," from which "My Fair Lady" was adapted.
