AARON ASHLEY MILLS son of THOMAS He married (1) ELIZA JEFFERS July 28, 1861 in Spencer County, Indiana. She was born April 1847 in Harrison TWP, Spencer Co., IN, and died August 02, 1889. He married (2) MARTHA ANN HUNTER November 19, 1889 in Perry Co. In, daughter of JAMES HUNTER and MARY RALSTON. She was born June 21, 1851 in Pennsylvania, and died June 14, 1931 in Perry Co., IN.
He growed into manhood where he was born.
In August 1862 he answered the call of his country and enlisted in Co. K 81 Ind. Infantry, this company was engaged in some of the most hotly contested battles of the civil war. He came through without being wounded but was hurt while going to Indianapolis to get his discharge and from this he suffered until his death. In 1861 he was united in marriage to Miss Eliza Jeffers who preceded him in death in July 1889. To this union were born six children, three who preceded him in death.
Shortly after the death of his first wife he was united in marriage to Miss Martha Hunter and to this union were born two children. He leaves to mourn his sad departure his wife, Martha A. Mills and five children, George Mills of Tell City, John Mills of Tell City, Julia Mosby of Bristow, James Ashley Mills of Bristow and Robert E. Mills of Bristow. He is survived by twenty-five grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
