Romas "Pete" Barker, 72, of Emory died Tuesday at his home. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Smyrna Church with Rev. Billy Smith and Rev. William Potts officiating. Burial is in Smyrna Cemetery.
He was born in Emory on March 9, 1927 to Steve and Ada Morehead Barker. On Dec. 22, 1984 he married Barbara Frances Harris in Emory. Mr. Barker was a welder. He was a Mason and a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife of Emory; sons Randy Barker of Crandall, Ronnie Barker of Dallas and Steven Barker of Georgetown; a daughter, Deborah Potter of Dallas; three stepchildren; a sister, Lois Northcutt of Duncanville; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Jackie Barker, James Luckett, Mitch Parker, Robert McEnturff, David Brown and Randall Duncan. L.B. Luckett is an honorary pallbearer.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
