Alice Eloise was the firstborn of Stephen Dunn and Flora Green-Dunn. Born July 16, 1921, in Bradley, OK, it seemed only fitting that she would always prefer summertime. She loved to count down the days to spring and start her planting. Then onto summer she worked all day in her gardens and flower beds. As a young girl, Eloise went through the Great Depression. During this time she helped on her parent's farm by picking cotton and helping raise her other six siblings. She later became a nanny for several families. Only days after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Eloise married the love of her life, Inzer Ray Belyeu on December 13, 1941. From this union only one son would be born, Gerald Ray Belyeu. During WWII while her husband was deployed and severely injured overseas, she worked briefly at a military defense plant in Yukon, OK. When Ray finally made it home from the war, they ran a dairy farm by Mustang, OK, and later two more farms in the Yukon area. Finally in 1971 they bought their last farm on Tiger Mountain outside of Checotah, OK. Here they raised cattle, enjoyed their grand children and gardening, and spent the last of their 49 years together. Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen Dunn and Flora Dunn Hise; her siblings, Tommy Dunn, George Dunn, Carey Dunn and Carol Smith; her husband, Ray Belyeu; and son, Gerald Belyeu.
