“Mel” Melicent Carolyn Johnson Collison, of Ft. Pierce died August 4, 2005 at Indian River Memorial Hospital, Vero Beach.

Mel was born in Baltimore, Maryland and had been a resident of Lakewood Park since 1970 coming from Edgewater, Maryland.

She was co-owner of Collison's Automotive of Vero Beach with her husband William E. "Billy" Collison.

Mel was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Vero Beach.

She is survived by her husband, William E. Collison, Ft. Pierce, Fl., 3 daughters, Helene S. Jardine, Ft. Pierce, Fl., Georgia C. Smith of Bogue Chitto Mississippi, Lisa Collison of Ft. Pierce, Fl., Son, Russell R. Smith of Shady Shores, Tex., Sister, Marguerite E. Bunker of Ft. Pierce, Fl. 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday August 8, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday July 9th at 11 A.M. with Rev. Jack Diehl, pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.
