JAMES H. DESMOND
The remains of James H. Desmond, who passed away at his cottage at Platte Lake, near Honor, Friday, were brought here Monday and laid to rest in the family lot in Oakwood. Mr. Desmond was 48 years of age, and was an active business man up until a few years ago, when his failing health compelled him to give up and he took up his abode at Platte Lake at his cottage there. He and his brother controlled the Desmond Chemical Plant at Carter Siding and for some time he had active management of it. He was a member of several fraternal organizations in this city and was well-known throughout the region. He leaves to mourn their loss a wife and two sons, Hugh of Detroit and Vance at home, one sister, Mrs. N. J. Rovick of Boyne City, and one brother, Frank of Hollywood, Calif. Funeral services were held from the cottage at Platte Lake Sunday and the remains brought here Monday morning, Rev. Demas Cochlin officiating at the grave.
