BRENT Homer Bailey left to be with the Lord at age 85 on August 4, 2013.

Homer was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Mitchell Bailey; mother, Vilma Bailey; father, Homer Bailey Sr.; sister, Patricia Slacker; brother, Robert Bailey; and a special nephew, David Bailey.

He leaves three nephews, Johnny Slacker (Clara), Charlie Slacker (Pattie), and Danny Bailey (Joy); one niece, Patti Synerth (Bill); two special great-nieces, Hanna Bailey and Kimmie Schor (Greg); one special great-nephew, Cody Bailey; and several other great-nieces and nephews. He also leaves a longtime special devoted and loving cousin, Sara Underwood who cared for him over seven years. She loved him dearly. He also leaves Richard Underwood and family; Thomas Underwood and family; also Darla McRee and husband Brett and children, Brian, Sara, Amy, Raeleigh, who loved him dearly and called him Pa Paw; special friends, Jean and Tony Caldwell, Valerie and James Jones of Helena with sons, Brodie and Kade; Diane and Roy Powell and daughter, Cindy and family; Kris and Gary Connell and daughter Keslie and Kyla.

Homer worked at B.F. Goodrich for over 38 years, in retirement he was known for growing vegetables including corn and okra which he shared with friends and the entire community. He was a member of Brent Baptist Church and a volunteer at Caring Center for over 10 years and Tombigbee Girl Scout Council for more than five years. He was a member of Friendship Lodge 53F. and A.M. for more than 50 years.

Homer Bailey was interned at Brent Cemetery on August 6, 2013. He is sorely missed by all who loved him.
