Anna married George Washington Voiles on 21 Feb 1820 in Vevay, Switzerland County, Indiana. Anna J was my great-great-great- grandmother. My great-great-grandfather was Henry Day Bantau. I have Henry Day's family bible. He has recorded Anna's birthdate as 3 May 1806. The family history passed down through the generations is that Henry had siblings and that they were orphaned at an early age. Through my years of research I have reached the conclusion that Henry Day might have lived with his maternal grandparents. Henry Day became a minister and I believe that he assumed the name, BANTA, but changed the spelling so as not to be confused with his grandfather, Henry d Banta, who was also a minister. Our family history also states that the original spelling was Banteaux, then it was shortened to Banteau and finally to Bantau. (Thanks to Juanita Arnold for the additional biographical details)
