Ferdinand A. Matznick, Sr. aged 88, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Albert Schneider in the town of Herman.
Deceased was born Jan. 20, 1853, in Germany, and was 12 years of age when his parents came to America and settled originally in the town of Herman. In 1880, he was married to Miss Wilhelmina Liedzert and in 1900 the family moved on a farm near Collins. He retired 20 years ago.
His wife died in 1934 and for the past year he lived with his daughter.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. William Behnke, route 4, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Albert Schneider in town of Herman; five sons, Gustave of Kiel, William and Paul of Collins, Otto of Kiel and Ferdinand, Jr., of Brillion; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The body will be taken to the home of his son, Paul, in Collins time (sic) afternoon, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday and at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran church in Collins, with interment in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. Harold O. Grunwald will officiate.
