Maton Lee Thompson, longtime Beggs and Eufaula area resident, died on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the age of 82. He was born on May 10, 1931 in Beggs to Markie Maton and Edith (Alspaw) Thompson. Maton enjoyed watching sports and fishing. He retired from American Airlines as a mechanic. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Eufaula. Maton was a member of the Transport Workers Union Local 514 of Tulsa and the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joy Thompson, a son, Danny Thompson and a step-son, Jim Edwards.
