June Edith Robinson
Waugh, 91, formerly of the
Shepherd Community, Mooresville,
passed away on Monday,
Aug. 20, 2007, at Gordon
Hospice House, Statesville.
Born June 30, 1916, in Catawba
County, she was a daughter
of the late Jake R. and
Jeanette Elizabeth Moon Robinson.
Mrs. Waugh was a retired
machine operator for
Burlington Industries, Mooresville.
She was also formerly
employed at Chemspun Mills.
Mrs. Waugh was a member of
Vanderburg United Methodist
Church, Mooresville.
She was preceded in death
by her husband, John Clinton
"Clint" Waugh, Sr.; daughter,
Betty Jean Hester; stepsons,
J.C. Waugh and Robert "Buck"
Waugh; five grandchildren;
brothers, Paul Edward Robinson
and Jack D. Robinson;
and sister, Mildred Nance.
Mrs. Waugh is survived by
her children, John C. "Johnny"
Waugh Jr. and wife, Mary,
of Statesville, Jerry W. Waugh
and wife, Brenda, and Peggy
Overcash, all of Mooresville,
James B. "Jimmy" Waugh and
wife, Betty, of Sunbury, Ga.,
and Larry D. Waugh and wife,
Jeanette, of Halifax; stepchildren,
Evelyn Caldwell of Maiden,
Helen Meadows and
husband, Luther, of Mooresville,
Vera Jarvis of Statesville,
Jack Waugh and wife,
Betty, of Maiden; stepdaughter-
in-law, Eunice C. Waugh
of Mooresville; 30 grandchildren,
69 great-grandchildren
and 34 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be
held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24,
at Vanderburg United Methodist
Church, Mooresville,
with Rev. Susan German and
Rev. Gerald Davis of Asheville
officiating. Burial will follow
in the church cemetery. The
family will receive friends
from 6-9 p.m., Thursday, Aug.
23, at Cavin-Cook Funeral
Home in Mooresville.
