Jean Adams, age 83 of Baxter Springs, KS passed from this life Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Freeman East Hospital, Joplin, Mo.
Jean was born March 15, 1927 in Sunnyside District, Oklahoma to the union of Clarence Ver and Lillie Mae (Clark) Bingham.
She graduated from Quapaw, Ok as salutatorian of her class.
She was united in marriage September 22, 1946 in Baxter Springs, Ks to Paul Adams. They resided and lived in Baxter Springs area all their life.
Jean worked for the former Pauline Parham Publishing Co. in Baxter Springs before going to work as a manager for Nickerson Farms, where she spent 18 years.
She attended Bethel Community Church for 56 years and recently spent the last 15 years at First Assembly of God Church in Baxter Springs.
Jean enjoyed reading and boating during the summer. She loved swimming and sun tanning, and most of all loved spending time with her family and friends.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents; one brother Bill Bingham, and one son-in-law C. Fred Shouse.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Paul Adams of the home, one son Jon Adams and wife Vicki of Joplin, Mo; one daughter Paula Shouse of Anniston, Alabama; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Memorial services will be held 10:00am, Friday March 11, 2011 at the First Assembly of God Church, Baxter Springs, KS. Pastor Howard Boyd and Dallas Satterfield will officiate the services.
Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-7:00pm at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel.
In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 919 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1100, Chicago, IL 60611.
