Obituary courtesy of the York News-Times dated 28 Sep 1973:

Clarence W. Mapps, 95, a former resident of York, died Friday morning at Long Beach, California.

He was born September 24, 1878, the son of John Mapps and May Jumper.

Surviving are two daughter, Mrs. Elanor Day, Napa, California; and Mrs. Louise M. Bratten, Long Beach; one son, George E. Mapps, Spenard, Alaska; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The body is being returned to Metz Mortuary for services.
