Anthony 'Sandy' Merendino, 71, of Ventnor passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Ventnor, the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Anthony Merendino.

Sandy graduated from Atlantic City High School then served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He owned and operated Seashore Liquor Store in Atlantic City for 25 years and then worked for Atlantic County Facilities Management for an additional 24 years.

Predeceased by brother and sisters-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Carmen Alameno and brother-in-law, Dr. George Varga; survivors include his loving wife of 48 years Paula (Alameno); his son and daughter-in-law; his daughter and son-in-law; sister; brother and sister-in-law and grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial at Holy Trinity Parish St. James Church, Ventnor. Interment at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor.
