World War I veteran.

David Franklin Alvord, 57, Wiconisco, died at his home Saturday, 5 am. Born in Wiconisco, he was a son of Oscar and the late Hannah (Shiley) Alvord.
He had been employed by Model Service, Penn Brook.
Surviving are his wife, the former Myrtle Zerby and the following children, Ruby, wife of Russell Nunemacher, of Tower City; Donald, of Wiconisco; Carl, of Dalmatia; Violet, wife of James Bixler, Harold, and Dawn, at home; Byron, of Germany; Catherine and Dorothy, at home; six grandchildren, his father, and one sister, Minnie, wife of Rev. Joseph Sweigard, of Halifax.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday from his late home. Rev. L.E. Rau will officiate. Interment will be made in Wiconisco Cemetery. Reiff and Helt are the funeral directors.
