Joseph Martin Grenade was the son of Mary and John A. Granade.
Joseph married Elizabeth A. Stanbury.
His estate was probated in Craven Co., North Carolina, in 1841. Petition of Eliza A. Granade, wife, of Joseph M. Grande, to appoint John G. Kinsey Administer of the Estate, made November Term, 1838.
Among their children:
1. Margaret Willard Grenade, b. March 10, 1837; d. May 17, 1837; buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery, New Bern, Craven Co., NC.
2. James S. Granade
[He is probably the J.M. Granade mentioned in "A History of New Bern and Craven County" by Alan D. Watson as: "According to an advertisement of J.H. Stanly, Jr., and J.M. Granade in 1837, a distillery operation consisted of as many as three stills, a steam engine, a horse, and a lighter to transport the produce." ]
[He is probably a descendant of John Joseph Granade, who was born in Bavaria, Germany in 1676 ; died in 1747; married in Bavaria, Germany in 1712 Elizabeth (?). Elizabeth was born in 1690; died in 1752.
They had five children, four of whom were born in Craven Co., NC, between 1715 and 1722.

b. John Grenade, 1715-1790
c. Daniel Grenade, 1718-(?)
d. Gaspard G. Granade, 1720-1764
e. Ernest Martin Grenade, 1722-1769]
