Edwin E. Cummins

SHEPHERD, MT, --- Edwin E. "Ed" Cummins worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment mechanic for various construction companies including Morrison - Knudson Mining Operation at Sarpy Creek until retirement in January due to ill health.

A Navy Veteran of World War II.

He was a member of VFW and International Union of Operating Engineers.

He moved to Shepherd in August and enjoyed life and his family.

Mr. Cummins, 61, died in his home Saturday morning of emphysema.

Born in Fairview, a son of Arthur and Lucy Cummins, Sr., his parents moved to Billings where he attended schools.

In March 1952, he married Shirley Ruland in Billings, MT.

She died in 1981.

On Sept. 30, 1983, he married Glenda Lahn in Billings.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Gary (Anda) Jarrett of Ballantine, MT., Mrs. Steven (Pearl) Fite of Polson, MT., and Melissa Cummins of Kalispell, MT., a son Robert Edwin of Worden, MT.,

three brothers, Arthur Lee Cummins Jr. and Rudolph both of Billings, MT., and Ralph Willard of Littleton, CO.,
three sisters, Mrs. Carol Derenfield of Walla Walla, WA.,
Mrs. Harry (Clair) Thompson of Spokane, WA., and Mrs. Lora Migs of Missoula, MT., four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews including Mrs. Joe (Dollie) Icopini of Worden, MT.

Services are pending in Smith Downtown Chapel.
