He married Celia Ann Daw December 24, 1890 Nevada, Vernon, MO. He was born to William Ferguson and Upina (Smith) Alexander.

Charles Milton Alexander passed away at this home in Richland township Monday evening at 8 o'clock at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 27 days. Mr. Alexander was born on March 26th, 1858, on the farm adjoining the one which was his home at the time of his death, having lived in his entire life in Vernon county. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Celia Ann Alexander; one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Hancock of Hume and two sons, W.H. Alexander of the home and Chester L. Alexander of Kansas City. Also by four grandchildren and one niece and one nephew. Funeral services for Mr. Alexander were held at the Deerfield Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The services were conducted by the Rev. J.D. Prater, pastor of the Centenary Methodist church in Nevada, and burial was in Deerfield cemetery. The Hays Funeral Service was in charge. During the funeral services, the Deerfield choir sang two hymns, "Abide With Me" and "Good Night and Good Morning." The choir was accompanied by Mrs. Ab Pettibon. Pallbearers were Ruel Day, John Fritter, J.W. Springsteen, Roy Horning, C.Z. Russell and Ray Armstrong."
