Emily was born April 15, 1925, the daughter of Jayhu and Agnes (McMenamin) Hampton in Cady Township, St. Croix County
Wisconsin.
She was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spring
Valley. She was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church and been a lifelong member. From the age of 10, Emily lived with her Grandpa and Grandma Hampton to take care of them on the family farm. After her
grandparents died, she took care of her Uncle Leon Hampton. She also worked at Park View Home in Woodville for many years, picked apples at Connell's Orchard, and was a member of the Spring Valley Area Historical
Association and the HoneyDoers Homemakers Club. She loved to scrapbook and write in her diary which she has kept up since 1936.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers John, Bernard, Roger and Hugh; sister Joan Brunkhorst; sister-in-law Myrtle Hampton;brothers-in-law Gerald ‘Louie' Brunkhorst and Everett Meyers; and nieces
Donna Hampton and Jeri Brunkhorst and nephew Patrick Smith.
She is survived by 3 sisters: Shirley Hampton and Carol Meyers of Spring Valley and Diane (Bill) Smith of Wilson; in-laws: Fran Hampton of Menomonie; Rita Hampton of Spring Valley, Mary Hampton of Spring
Valley, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends..
Visitation was on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church,
Pallbearers were Jay Meyers, Shane Meyers, Joe Hampton, Gary Hampton,
Shelly Ninneman, Charlene Connell, Kathy Miller and Kari Hillstead
