Paul Lee Parcell, 75, of 1120 Douglas Ave., Martinsville, died Monday, April 19, at Memorial
Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
Born Feb. 27, 1924, in Franklin County, he was a son of the late Alfred Lee Parcell and the late
Roxie Bowles Parcell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Austin Parcell in January; and a
brother, Curtis Parcell.
He retired from American Furniture Co. after 45 years service, and was a member of Chatmoss
Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Bonnie P. Thompson and Barbara P. Shively, both of Martinsville,
Joan A. Martin of Fieldale, and Joyce P. Walsh of Blairs; one son, Richard M Amburn of
Martinsville; one sister, Bernice Whitlow of Bassett; five brothers, Buren Parcell and Hassell Parcell,
both of Snow Creek, Melvin Parcell of Martinsville, and James Parcell and Claude Parcell, both of
Snow Creek; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at McKee-Stone Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rodney
Houston officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at McKee-Stone Funeral Services,
and other times at the home on Douglas Avenue.
