Wenzel (Jim) Blahnik, Jr was the son of Bohemian immigrant parents Wenzel Blahnik Sr 1848 Radonice #42 Czech -1929 and Mary Echtner 1854-1911. His parents met in Mantiowoc and married in 1873. Wenzel was the eighth of twelve children born to this couple. Wenzel was listed as having a medium build and height with brown hair and eyes on his WWI draft card registration. He was a farmer. The couple had four children; Edward 1913-1985, Charlotte Olson 1915-2009, Milton 1923-1988 and Agnes McNabb. Wenzel died Dec 10, 1926 when his youngest child was just a few months old. Alvina married Edward Echtner June 25, 1930 and he raised the children. She lived until 1983 and is buried with her second husband at Pine Hill in Oconto, WI.
