VALDESE, N.C. -- Mr. Roy Paschal Abee, 83, of Pons Avenue died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at East Valdese Baptist Church, with the Revs. Brett Howell, Marion Powell and Mike Lawhorn officiating. Burial will follow at Abee's Grove Baptist Church cemetery with military honors.
A native of Burke County, N.C., Mr. Abee was a son of the late Roy Peter Abee and Mary Hauss Abee. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 234 and was a retired mail clerk with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of East Valdese Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Gates Abee; two daughters, Ramona Duncan of Connelly Springs, N.C., and Cherie Mabrey of Catawba; his sister, Julia Abernathy; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the church.
Memorials may be made to East Valdese Baptist Church, P.O. Box 156, Valdese, NC 28690, or to the charity of one's choice.
