He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Betsy Dawn McGaha, and he was the last surviving child of 16 children of the late Thomas and Margaret Jane McGaha.
He is survived by his wife, Rudell McGaha, of Newport; son, Doug McGaha, of Newport; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Neil and Jackie Dockery, of Chestnut Hill; one granddaughter and one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held 7:00 p.m. Monday in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Hudson Chesteen and the Rev. Jerry Colbert officiating.
Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Burchfield Memorial Cemetery, with the DAV conducting military rites.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday prior to funeral services.
