Fred L. Anderson, 91, of New London, died August 21, 2013 while visiting his daughter, Janet Lowe in Mechanicsville. He was born January 31, 1922, in Rochester to the late Cleston and Cecil (Atkinson) Anderson. Fred was a life long resident of the New London area.

He worked at Sterling Foundry for 30 years where he retired in 1984 and he farmed his entire life. Fred was a member of the New London Grange 2401, New London Ruritan and was a 4-H advisor for 15 years. He was also a member of the Huron and Lorain County Farmers Union. Fred attended Brett-Reed Memorial Presbyterian Church in West Point, Virginia.

He loved Bluegrass music. Fred enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in all of their school events.

Survived by his children, Thomas (Linda) Anderson of Wellington and Janet Lowe of King William, Virginia; grandchildren, Chris Clark, Nathan Anderson, Matthew Anderson and Aaron Anderson; great grandchildren, Derek DeVoe, Shelby Clark, Morgan Clark, Aleha Anderson, Alyssa Anderson, Connor Anderson, Zachary Houserman and Nicholas Houserman and sister, Hazel Schneiter of New London. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; son-in-law, Emmett Lowe Sr.; granddaughter, Nancy Clark DeVoe and brothers, Robert and Phillip Anderson.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, August 25th at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Claire Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in East Creek Cemetery, New London. If desired, memorials may be given to the New London Grange, c/o Greg Landis, 5100 New London Eastern Road, Nova, Ohio 44859.
