Killed in an airplane accident near Lincoln England. Body returned to US.22 years old, a student at Colgate University, was killed in an airplane accident. He had at first enlisted with the American ambulance service but was transferred to air service. His sister is Mrs. W. J. Alford Jr.

Sent to Allentown, Pa.; then to Camp Dix, N. J. Assigned to 182nd Aero Squadron. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant. Overseas in May, 1918. Killed in an airplane collision near Lincoln, England, July 9, 1918. Body returned to U.S., and buried in Anderson, Ind.
