Chester Ably, 70, of 108 N. Hinman Ave. died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at St, Joseph's Hospital Hospice Care Unit, where he had been admitted July I. Death was due to cardiac arrest. Service will be at 10.30 a m. Monday at the Rembs Kundinger Chapel The Kev. Russell L. Reemstsma, pastor of Grace Baptist Church of Marshfield will officiate. Burial will be In Hillside Cemetery, Shirley Mook will be the organist for Judy Werth, soloist. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 54 of Marshfield at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey t., Jack C. and Charles Ablv. Tim Celdernick, Dick Kramer and Fred Gauger. Visitation will be at the Rembs Kundinger Chapel after 4 p.m. Sunday, and again on Monday until time of services. He was born July 9, 1918, In Stratford, to Fred and Alice Ably. He attended the Stratford and Marshfield schools. He married Margaret A. Hein Sept. 9, 1950, in Marshfield. He worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps in City Point and Gays Mills ; from Nov, 11, 1937 to Aug. 10. 1940. He Entered the Army Aug. 12, 1940, and was discharged as a sergeant first class May 31, 1961. He had been stationed at many army bases and outposts throughout the . United States and Europe. Following his discharge, he worked for the Rollohome Corp. in Marshfield for a short while. He is a past member of the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, Jeffrey of Minneapolis, and Jack of Marshfield; two daughters, Mrs. Timothy (Kathy) Geldernick of Chili, and Mrs. William (Ruth) Happe of Chili; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Gauger of Hancock, and Mrs. Melvin (Jeanette) Kramer of Marshfield; and 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
