Thomas M. Pierce, Sr., of Huntingdon, R.D. 3, died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 1973 at the Hollidaysburg State Hospital, where he had been a patient since March 1973.

The son of William and Sarah Pierce, he was born March 8, 1886 in Altoona. His wife, the former Verna Wetzel, passed away in 1972. A son, Thomas, Jr., and a stepson, Ted Wetzel, are also deceased. Mr. Pierce was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He was of the Lutheran faith. In 1957, he retired from his position as machinist for Fleetwings Inc. of Philadelphia.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, December 21, at the McClain Funeral Home in Cassville. The Rev. Marion Walker will officiate and interment will be made in the Fairview Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home from 7 p.m. tonight until time for services.
