HINESBURG, VT. - John "Skippy" Kenneth Martin Sr., age 84, of Hinesburg, passed away on September 13th 2015 at the Vermont Respite House in Williston, Vt.

He was born on August 24th 1931 in Colchester, Vt., he was the son of John Baptiste and Marie Elizabeth (Bessie) Desjardin Martin.

John married Theresa Bartemy on April 25th 1959. Together they had seven children.

John and Theresa moved to Shelburne, Vermont to raise their family, and were members of St. Catherine of Siena Parish.

John loved hunting, fishing, singing and watching the Boston Red Sox and wrestling. John often sang songs to family and old friends to share his joy of song and lift their spirits.

John started Martin's Window Cleaning and Janitorial service in the 60's where he and his wife Theresa continued to work until retirement.

John was preceded in death by his son Kirk and daughter Linda; his brother Edward Martin; sister Hilda Barnes; brother-in-law Henry and sister Priscilla Forman.
