Arthur served an LDS mission in Canada and the North-Eastern United States. He served in Fredericton, New Brunswick and Portland, Maine, but before his mission was completed he was called home because his mother was very ill.
He began working at a sugar factory spinning sugar. He was accidentally gassed while working processing sugar which made him very ill. After a short illness he passed away in his sleep on 23 October 1911. His mother followed a short time later. They were both buried in the Lehi Cemetery.
This handsome young man was the pride and joy to his mother.
