Brittany Amanda Pollard Legler, 15 years old, of Millcreek Twp, died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Hamot Medical Center. She was born March 15, 1989, in Erie. She is survived by her birth mother Rosemary Pollard and her mother's fiance Chris Smith of Albion, her birth father Robert Pollard and his wife Melissa of Erie. Brittany is also survived by her adoptive mother Lisa Legler Iarussi of Erie, her adoptive sister Abby Iarussi of Erie, her adoptive grandmother Florence Connell of Erie. Also survived by five siblings: Cassandra, Samantha and Kyle Pollard, Shelby and Robert Pollard Perry, step-sister Ashley Sissem, and her grandparents RoseMary Johnson Burroughs and her husband Harry of Lake City, and also Sandra and Robert Pollard of McKean. Preceded in death by her grandfather Dale E. Johnson.
∼Age 15, Brittany's ashes were buried in Girard.
Brittany was a student at Millcreek Intermediate School. She attended St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and enjoyed movies and riding her bicycle.
The pastor at her memorial service requested worshipers to "Think of her as now being with God, in a place where she is safe and happy."
