Al was a member of South Harborcreek United Methodist Church. He was employed with General Electric Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1977. Al was a pilot and enjoyed flying. He was also a musician and played in many places in the Erie area. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served in the South Pacific in WWII.
He was preceded in death by one grandson.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years of marriage this September 3rd, Patricia A. Dean; two daughters, AlBerta Phanco of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Patricia A. Davis and husband William of Albuquerque, N.M.; three sons, Charles A. Dean and wife Brenda of Erie, Douglas J. Dean and wife Denise of Johnstown, Pa., and James E. Dean and wife Johna of Oldmar, Fla.; two sisters, Ruth McIntosh of Springhill, Fla., and Caroline Sargent of Bradenton, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Interment Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery with full military honors.
