Ector -- Funeral services for Jerry Allen Baker, 65 of Ector will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, Feb. 29, 2008 at New Zion Baptist Church under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. Rodney Sprayberry will officiate. Burial will follow in Carson Cemetery in Ector. Jerry passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008 at his residence.
Jerry was born January 15, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington, son of Richard Earl Baker and Marian Baker Rave. He was a graduate of Orting, Washington High School and attended college in Green River. He was a US Army veteran. Jerry was a semi-truck driver and an excellent mechanic. He enjoyed playing Bluegrass music on lead guitar.
Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lee Baker, and his father.
Surviving are:
Wife: Maria "Toni" Pinon Baker of Ector
Sons: Robin Baker and wife, Bobby of Spokane, WA ; Richard Baker of Washington ; Kenneth Baker and wife, Sherri of North Carolina; Daniel Baker and wife, Juanita
Daughters: Cindy Lou Marion and husband, Bob ; Debbie Berg
Mother: Marian Baker Rave of Ector
Sisters: Judith Goldie Glaser of Ector ; Carol Lynn Murphy of Arizona; Victoria Lou Dummer of Illinois
8 Stepchildren: Steve Criss, Jaquilyn Martin, Shelly Abbot, Kevin Criss, Alexandra Arroyo, Jorge Arroyo, Giuliana Arroyo and Lizeth Arroyo
7 Grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. A number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Rick Baker, Kenneth Baker, Dan Baker, Kevin Criss, Steve Criss and William Large.
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday night.
