MCGARRY Alice C. McGarry, age 86 of Milford, beloved wife for 60 years of Joseph McGarry, died on Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Mrs. McGarry was born in Bridgeport on December 15, 1923 to the late Howard and Maude Wigglesworth Coulson and was a Milford resident for 56 years. She was retired from Milford Hospital where she was a registered nurse for 17 years and was also employed at Bridgeport Hospital for several years. Mrs. McGarry was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1941 and a graduate of Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing and a longtime parishioner of St. Gabriel Church. Survivors, in addition to her husband, Joseph, include three sons, Francis McGarry (Patricia Browning) of Derby, Joseph McGarry (Karen) of Milford and James McGarry (Mary Ellen) of Arizona; a daughter, Maryann Petremont (William) of Milford; eight grandchildren, Matt and Kristie McGarry, Jennifer Burke, Katherine Peffer, Mark Petremont, Aimee Guy, Callie Gaylord and Tracy Evans; several great-grandchildren; her dear and lifelong friend, Betty O'Neil of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs.McGarry was predeceased by her grandson, Brian McGarry; a brother, Ralph Coulson; and a sister, Ruth Parsell. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday at 10 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. Gabriel Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call on Friday 4 to 8 p.m. in The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.
